I am a software developer living in Nashville, Tennessee. I started my journey here like most people, in the music industry as an audio engineer. After a few years of grinding it out trying to make it, I decided that the music business might not be for me and really started to think about what part of audio engineering appealed to me the most.
After landing my first job at a healthcare tech company where I worked hands-on with software and developers, it dawned on me. I was in love with the problem-solving and the chase for the solution. I loved working my way through the ideal signal chain of microphone, preamp and compressor that would accenctuate a singer's voice and would inspire them to get the perfect take.
And then I realized that I could do that with software development. This epiphany led me to start to get my feet wet with coding, which eventually led me to enroll at Nashville Software School in the part-time web development program.
When I am not coding, I enjoy spending time with my wife and my dog and pretending like I know how to cook and barbecue, and I still rock the occasional recording session when time allows.
